Adaawewigamig means place of trade/selling in Anishinaabemowin. Adaawewigamig opened on June 19th, 2022 during our Summer Solstice Block Party that we hosted in the Byward Market alongside Indigenous Experiences.

Our storefront is an Indigenous owned and operated social enterprise that aims to support the ongoing community, land based and advocacy work of Assembly of Seven Generations. Each item you purchase goes back to supporting Indigenous artists, businesses, and youth. We currently have products in from Kokum Scrunchies, Mitsoh, Moccasin Joe, Cedar Canoe Candles, Uasau Soaps, Awazibi Maple Syrup as well as A7G Merch.

We also host various workshops in our community space open to Indigenous youth. We have hosted jewelry making, ribbon skirt making, medicine pouch making & painting workshops.

Fashion Shows

Since we opened in June 2022, we have hosted over six fashion shows featuring artists from our store including Tracy Toulouse, Metis Branded, Section 35, Osamuskwasis, Joanne Miles-Long, Mini Tipi, MOBILIZE & many more.

If you are interested in hosting a fashion show or looking for designer curation, reach out to us at [email protected]

Community Support

We like to give back to Algonquin community and grassroots efforts when we can.

Here are some of the donations we made to support grassroots work happening in Algonquin Territory.

We currently sell earrings and scarves, created by Bridget Tolley of Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg.

All proceeds go back to the ongoing advocacy and community support that Families of Sisters in Spirt offers to families who have been affected by the MMIW2SG+ crisis.

During the month of September 2022, we sold Orange t-shirts with profits going back to grassroots community efforts. We were able to donate $3,750.00 to the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan Native Elders Lodge. This was our way to making sure that orange shirts funds were going back into Indigenous businesses and communities. We appreciate all of the support making this possible.
