Assembly of Seven Generations (A7G) is an Indigenous youth led & driven grassroots, non profit organization focused on community support and opportunities for Indigenous youth, based in Unceded Algonquin Territory.

We have been actively working as A7G since 2014. We incorporated as a national non profit organization in 2015. Our work continues to expand as our networks and capacity grow with the needs and aspiration of Indigenous youth.

Our mission is to
co-create a supportive Indigenous youth-led community through a grassroots way of being.

In the time of the Seventh Fire, New People will emerge. They will retrace their steps to find what was left by the trail. Their steps will take them to the Elders who they will ask to guide them on their journey."

UFCW Canada Indigenous Committee Calendar 2025

Picture
UFCW Canada is proud to introduce its first-ever Indigenous Calendar, created in collaboration with the UFCW Canada Indigenous Committee and the Assembly of Seven Generations (A7G). This groundbreaking calendar marks an important step in recognizing and honouring Indigenous cultures, traditions, and histories.
The calendar highlights significant dates that are meaningful to Indigenous communities across Canada, including cultural ceremonies, seasonal events, and moments of historical importance. These dates are not bound by the conventional Gregorian calendar but instead honour Indigenous cycles of the land, the natural world, and spiritual practices. The collaboration with the UFCW Indigenous Committee ensures that the calendar is a true reflection of Indigenous voices, traditions, and perspectives.

A Labour of Love Report  - released April 2023

Picture

On April 17, 2023, We launched our newest report called "A Labour of Love", The Unpaid and Exploited Labour of Grassroots and Community Based Indigenous Youth Groups.  We launched it at a side event during the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues in New York City. The report highlights underfunded grassroots and community work of 10 Indigenous youth groups across so-called Canada and how ethically implementing TRC Call to Action 66 would create relief and safety for many youth groups.

"The Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action 66 (TRC 66) is acall to action that Residential School survivors wanted for the current and future generations of young people. If meaningfully, fully, and honestly implemented, TRC 66 would advance true reconciliation by positively impacting survivors and multigenerational survivors, leading the way to address the harmful legacy of the residential school system. The intentions of survivors are clear and precise, with TRC 66 reading:

We call upon the federal government to establish multi-year funding for community-based youth organizations to deliver programs on reconciliation and establish a national network to share information and best practices."

Watch the video below to see the launch of our report and hear from some of the youth groups that were highlighted throughout the report:
